Sri Lankans in Lebanon Advised to Avoid Communication Equipment

September 20, 2024

The Sri Lankan Mission in Lebanon has issued a safety warning to its citizens following a series of blasts that targeted Hezbollah militants' pagers and walkie-talkies this week, resulting in numerous casualties.

The Mission advised Sri Lankans to temporarily refrain from visiting crowded places, public events, and long-distance travel. They also urged citizens to avoid using communication-related equipment during this volatile period.

The Sri Lankan Embassy has set up several emergency hotlines to assist those in distress.
