Rainy Conditions Expected continuously in Sri Lanka

The Department of Meteorology has announced that the current showery conditions are expected to continue due to a low-level atmospheric disturbance near the island.

Showers or thundershowers are anticipated in most provinces after 1:00 p.m., with some areas in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces potentially experiencing heavy rainfall of up to 100mm. Morning showers are also expected along the Western, Southern, and Eastern coastal areas.

Sea areas around Sri Lanka will experience showers or thundershowers, with south-westerly or variable winds at speeds of 20-30 kmph. Although the sea is expected to remain generally slight, temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas are possible during thundershowers.
