In Ratthota, a 12-year-old girl and her 23-year-old brother fell victim to lightning while at their residence in the Welgalayaya area, marking a devastating loss for their family.

Meanwhile, in the Ayyankulam area of Thunukkai, Mullaitivu, a 49-year-old father of three lost his life to a lightning strike, leaving behind a grieving family. Additionally, a 26-year-old youth, who was with the victim, sustained serious injuries and has been admitted to Mallawi Hospital for treatment.
