Upul Shantha Sannasgala, a well-known figure in Sri Lanka renowned for his educational prowess and social media influence, has been arrested by the Kandana police station following accusations of financial misconduct.

The allegations stem from a complaint filed by an individual named Nuwan Pradeep, who claims to have entrusted Sannasgala with a staggering sum of Rs. 1 million for the production of a promised movie. However, despite repeated inquiries and requests for updates, Pradeep asserts that neither the movie materialized nor was his substantial investment returned.

According to Pradeep's complaint, Sannasgala has failed to provide any satisfactory explanation or resolution regarding the matter, prompting him to escalate the issue to the Police.
