Singaporean Experts Arrive in Sri Lanka to Draft Municipal Plans

 

A team of experts from Singapore has touched down in Sri Lanka with the aim of drafting comprehensive municipal plans for various regions of the island nation. Led by the Director General of the Urban Development Authority, Prasad Ranaweera, the group's primary focus will be on Hambantota, with previous planning activities centered around Colombo and Trincomalee.

The municipal plans are slated to cover the Western Province, Eastern Province, and the Hambantota District in the Southern Province. Ranaweera has outlined a timeline, with a detailed report on city planning, projects, and proposals expected within the next six months.

Comprising 12 experts from Surbana Jurong, a Singapore-based company renowned for its urban development expertise, the team brings a wealth of experience to the table. Their presence underscores the commitment to advancing Sri Lanka's urban infrastructure and development initiatives.
