Sri Lanka's cricket sensation, Chamari Athapaththu, has reclaimed her throne at the summit of the ICC Women’s ODI Batting Rankings following her stunning 195 not out against South Africa. Athapaththu's stellar performance in the third ODI not only propelled Sri Lanka to level the ICC Women’s Championship Series but also secured her ninth ODI century, setting a new record for the highest individual score in a successful chase in Women’s ODIs.

Athapaththu’s resurgence sees her surpass England's Natalie Sciver-Brunt to claim the coveted top spot, a position she previously held in July 2023. Her counterpart, Laura Wolvaardt, also ascended the ranks, moving up two places to third after her formidable unbeaten 184 for South Africa.

In a remarkable display of captaincy and skill, West Indies skipper Hayley Mathews surged up the rankings, courtesy of her double century and match-winning performance against Pakistan, elevating her to 11th position among batters and second in the all-rounders’ list.
