The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) opposition party has expressed disappointment with the government's handling of debt restructuring discussions with the Ad Hoc Group of Bondholders regarding International Sovereign Bonds (ISBs). SJB MP Dr. Harsha de Silva criticized the government for its lack of transparency, stating that the government failed to strike a favorable deal for Sri Lanka. Despite constructive discussions, no agreement was reached, leading to disappointment among the opposition. Dr. de Silva emphasized the need for transparency in the restructuring process, especially with elections approaching, and urged the government to prioritize the nation's interests in future negotiations.
