Actress Damitha Abeyratne and her husband were arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Colombo today over allegations of financial fraud.

The arrest comes after accusations of defrauding Rs 3 million belonging to other parties.

Earlier attempts by the police to locate Abeyratne and her husband at their residence in Pepiliyana were unsuccessful.

However, today, the couple was apprehended by the CID.
