Anuradhapura District Member of Parliament for the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), H. Nandasena, has passed away this morning. The former provincial minister succumbed to a sudden illness at the age of 69.Nandasena, who previously served as a member of the Padaviya Pradeshiya Sabha and the North Central Provincial Council, where he held a provincial ministerial portfolio, was dismissed from his ministerial position in May 2017 after attending a Joint Opposition May Day rally.

In the 2020 parliamentary elections, he contested as a candidate of the Sri Lanka People’s Freedom Alliance in the Anuradhapura District and successfully secured a seat in the Parliament of Sri Lanka.
