The President has appointed Mr. W.K.D. Wijerathne as the Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), in line with the provisions outlined in the new anti-corruption Act.

Wijerathne has functioned in the same role before, but this new appointment gives him wider powers under the new Act. 

The new anti-corruption Act has further empowered CIABOC, granting it enhanced authority and tools to effectively investigate and prosecute cases of bribery and corruption.
