Today, President Ranil Wickremesinghe officially opened the doors to the German-Sri Lanka Friendship New Women’s Hospital in Karapitiya, Galle.
This monumental occasion marks a significant stride forward in Sri Lanka's healthcare landscape, as the hospital boasts an impressive array of features including 640 beds, six operating theatres, emergency units, intensive care, and pediatric units. According to the President’s Media Division (PMD), this state-of-the-art facility not only stands as the largest maternity hospital in Sri Lanka but also across South Asia.
With modern facilities and cutting-edge equipment, the hospital is poised to provide top-notch care to expectant mothers and infants, ushering in a new era of healthcare excellence in the region.
