The Attorney General's Department has announced its intention to present facts to the court regarding former President Maithripala Sirisena's statement to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) concerning the Easter attacks. This decision follows the submission of Sirisena's statement to the Attorney General's Department on Tuesday.

The AG's Department also plans to request the court to summon Sirisena for further clarification. Former President Sirisena provided his statement to the CID on March 25th, following a summons, prompted by remarks he made to the media in Kandy on March 22nd.
