Lasantha Alagiyawanna, State Minister, has been elected as the chairman of the Committee on Public Accounts (COPA).

In parallel, Rohitha Abeygunawardena, SLPP MP, has secured the chairmanship of the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE).

The COPA includes new MPs including Tissa Attanayake and Kabir Hashim, while COPE sees nominations like Anura Dissanayaka and Rauff Hakeem among others to bolster its ranks
