Visa-free travel to Sri Lanka is fueling a tourism boom, with arrivals soaring in early 2024.

Visitors from key countries like China, India, and Russia can now enjoy 30 days in Sri Lanka without a visa, thanks to an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA).

January saw a record 208,253 tourists, up 103.1% from last year. With expectations of 2 million visitors in 2024, the tourism sector could rake in $6 billion.

 According to observers, seamless digital payments will further enhance the tourist experience, urging for a widespread adoption of digital payment options.
