Five Injured, Including Foreigners, in Bus-Car Collision in Dambulla

A private passenger bus traveling from Trincomalee to Colombo collided with a car carrying four foreign tourists, all members of the same French family, in the Pelwehera area of Dambulla earlier today (March 4).

The incident occurred on the Dambulla – Habarana main road, leaving five individuals critically injured and several others with minor injuries.

According to reports from the police, the collision took place as the bus attempted to overtake another vehicle, resulting in the tragic accident.

Among the injured are the mother, father, and son of the French family, along with the car's driver and a female Buddhist monk who was traveling on the bus. All have been rushed to Dambulla Base Hospital for medical treatment.
