Six senior students have been remanded following their arrest due to an assault incident at Sabaragamuwa University. The students appeared before the Balangoda Magistrate's Court, where they were ordered to remain in custody until February 15.
The charges stem from an altercation in which the seniors allegedly assaulted three second-year students, one of whom is female, from the Faculty of Agriculture. The incident reportedly took place in the university canteen on February 9, resulting in the hospitalization of the victims.
Authorities from the Samanalawewa Police confirmed the arrests, indicating that the suspects were apprehended today in connection with the assault. as seven other students who were previously arrested and remanded in connection with the same incident have also been ordered to remain in custody.
