Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe voiced concerns about his personal safety, asserting that his life is at risk.

 

Speaking in Parliament, the Minister went on to claim that if anything were to happen to him, President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Senior Advisor to the President on National Security and Chief of Presidential Staff Sagala Ratnayaka should be held responsible.

 

Minister Ranasinghe described the perceived threat to his life as a new development in the political landscape. He expressed uncertainty about the timing and nature of potential risks, emphasizing the urgency of the matter.

 

"There is a new discord in politics, and my life could be a casualty of it. I might face harm anywhere—tomorrow, today, or the day after. I'm uncertain. Nonetheless, the President and Sagala Ratnayaka must be held accountable. Ensure that these remarks are duly recorded in the Hansard," emphasized Minister Ranasinghe.
