The Cabinet has given its approval for a substantial reduction in the price of MOP (Muriate of Potash) fertilizer, commonly known as "Bandi Pohora." The current price, set at Rs. 19,000 per bag, will be slashed to an affordable Rs. 9,000 per bag, according to an announcement by Agriculture Minister Mahinda Amaraweera.

The decision to reduce the cost of MOP fertilizer is part of a broader strategy to alleviate financial burdens on farmers and enhance the viability of agricultural practices.
