Ranil Wickremesinghe, President of Sri Lanka, arrived in the Maldives today to attend the Presidential Inauguration 2023.

President Wickremesinghe was received at Velana International Airport by Abdulla Shahid, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, and senior officials of the Office of the President-elect.

President Wickremesinghe's visit to the Maldives underscores the strong bilateral ties between the two countries. Sri Lanka and the Maldives have a long history of cooperation, and the two countries share common interests in areas such as maritime security, counterterrorism, and climate change.
