Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena has announced an investigation into the participation of Kanishka Bandara, the son of COPE Chairman Prof. Ranjith Bandara, during the COPE meeting with Sri Lanka Cricket.

The Speaker made this announcement in response to a question raised by Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa in Parliament.

Premadasa inquired about the presence of COPE Chairman's son during the meeting with Sri Lanka Cricket, raising concerns over potential conflicts of interest.

The Speaker, responding to these concerns, declared that an investigation would be conducted to scrutinize the circumstances surrounding Kanishka Bandara's involvement.
