Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has filed a defamation lawsuit against Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe in the District Court of Colombo. The lawsuit seeks damages amounting to a substantial 2.4 Billion rupees.

The legal action comes in the wake of a series of contentious events that have strained the relationship between the national cricket body and the Sports Minister. The lawsuit alleges that Minister Ranasinghe made defamatory statements against SLC, damaging its reputation and causing financial harm.
