Minister of Urban Development and Housing, Prasanna Ranatunga, has recently taken a pivotal step to restructure the administration of the renowned Viharamahadevi Park in the heart of Colombo.

The minister has directed the Urban Development Authority (UDA) to transfer the park's management and control to the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC), signifying a shift in its governance.

This decision aims to promote efficient and localized management of the iconic urban park. The move is expected to facilitate improved maintenance, accessibility, and services at the Viharamahadevi Park.
