Muditha Peiris, the Chairman of LITRO Gas Lanka, has called upon the Education Minister, Susil Premajayantha, to consider including safety measures related to the use of liquid petroleum gas (LPG) in the Advanced Level (A/L) syllabus.
Highlighting the importance of LPG safety awareness, Peiris revealed that approximately 2.4 million gas cylinders are being used in the country every hour, indicating that around 70 people are lighting their gas cylinders each passing second.
Acknowledging the significance of safe LPG use, he emphasized that, thanks to the safety measures implemented by LITRO Gas, the public no longer needs to fear using their gas products.
The request to incorporate LPG safety measures into the A/L syllabus is aimed at educating and raising awareness among the younger generation about the safe handling and usage of LPG. This initiative is expected to play a crucial role in preventing accidents and ensuring the well-being of the public.
