Lanka Sathosa has announced a series of price reductions on four essential food items, effective from today, October 26.

The state-owned retail network Lanka Sathosa has lowered the prices of four staple food products, offering cost savings for consumers across the nation. The reductions come as part of a broader effort to ease the financial burden on households and ensure access to essential items at affordable rates.

The updated prices for these essential items are as follows:

• Samba Rice: The price of samba rice has been reduced by 6 rupees, resulting in a new price of 222 rupees per kilogram.
• Chickpeas: Chickpeas have seen a price reduction of 6 rupees, now available at 549 rupees per kilogram.
• Red Lentils: A reduction of 5 rupees has been applied to red lentils, bringing the new price to 295 rupees per kilogram.
• Red Brown Rice: The price of red brown rice has been lowered by 3 rupees, making it available at 169 rupees per kilogram.

These price reductions aim to alleviate the financial strain on consumers, particularly in these challenging times.
