Namal Expresses Concerns Over President's Way of Operation: "When Working As An Alliance, Decisions Must be Made with Consensus"

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa has voiced his concerns over the recent Cabinet reshuffle conducted by President Ranil Wickremesinghe. Rajapaksa's remarks came just two days after President Wickremesinghe made changes to his Cabinet, including the removal of Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella from his post.

The reshuffle appears to have ruffled feathers within the SLPP, as Rajapaksa expressed the party's displeasure.

Rajapaksa took the opportunity to underline the importance of unity and negotiation when working within a political alliance, citing the failures of the former Yahapalana government as a cautionary example. He stated, "When working as an alliance, all parties should be consulted before making a decision. Such a practice was not followed in the recent past, and that was why the SLPP General Secretary was not happy."

The SLPP MP's comments come as a reflection of the party's concerns about the decision-making process within the current government. The reshuffle, while a prerogative of the President, has raised questions regarding consultation and transparency in the decision-making.
