A startling incident unfolded in the peaceful town of Rambukkana when Theranam, a student monk residing and studying in a local temple, was apprehended by the Rambukkana Police. The arrest was made in connection with the alleged possession of two T-56 magazines and a stockpile of 161 bullets.

This unexpected turn of events left the community in shock as it was revealed that the detained individual is a student monk in the third year at the Horana Pali and Buddhist University. The senior police officer in the area disclosed that this young student monk was arrested based on suspicion, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding his alleged possession of firearms and ammunition.

The arrest was executed after the temple's vihara abbot, where the student monk resides, provided a notification to the police, alerting them to the situation. In response to this information, a police team swiftly arrived at the scene and apprehended the student monk. The discovery of the two T-56 magazines and the large cache of live ammunition added a layer of complexity to the case.

In a peculiar twist, another monk who resides and works within the same temple was also arrested on suspicion of possessing approximately 850 grams of ganja, a type of cannabis.
