A 34-year-old woman's harrowing abduction from a restaurant in the Horana area sent shockwaves through the community earlier today. According to reports, a group of individuals forcibly abducted the woman while she was at a restaurant in Horana.
The incident unfolded in broad daylight, but the quick thinking and action of the restaurant's employees proved crucial in ensuring her safety. Following the abduction, the restaurant staff promptly alerted the police authorities, leading to a swift response from the police.
After an intense three-hour search operation, the woman was located and safely recovered. Sri Lanka Police confirmed that the suspects responsible for the abduction had also been apprehended.
The woman and her abductors were found at a residence situated along the Bandaragama – Anguruwathota road. Police investigations have revealed that the woman was abducted by a former partner, with the assistance of two additional individuals.
