Injured Dasun Shanaka Remains with Sri Lankan Team as Traveling Reserve for World Cup as Medical Teams Continue to Monitor his Condition

Sri Lankan cricket all-rounder Dasun Shanaka, who was compelled to withdraw from the World Cup squad due to a recent injury, has chosen to stay on with the team as a Traveling Reserve. This development comes as the Sri Lankan Medical team continues to closely monitor Shanaka's injury condition.

Dasun Shanaka's withdrawal from the World Cup squad was necessitated by a thigh injury that he sustained, which has rendered him unfit for cricket for a minimum of three weeks. Despite this setback, Shanaka will remain a part of the team, providing support and motivation to his teammates as they proceed with the challenging tournament.

All-rounder Chamika Karunaratne, who was added to the squad as a travelling reserve earlier, has been included in the team as Shanaka's replacement.

In Shanaka's absence, Kusal Mendis has stepped up to lead the national side in the upcoming World Cup.
