“Those Who Wanted the Bed Can Take it Now:” Singer Madhumadhawa Comments on Those Who Questioned Jackson Anthony's ICU Stay

Following the recent passing of veteran actor Jackson Anthony, singer Madhumadhawa Aravinda made a notable comment that has sparked discussion and debate within Sri Lanka.

Anthony, who had been in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Colombo National Hospital for almost 500 days after being involved in a serious accident in Anuradhapura last year, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries. This lengthy ICU stay had raised questions from many quarters about the allocation of critical care resources.

In response to Anthony's passing, singer Madhumadhawa Aravinda took to social media to express his condolences and wrote, "Those who wanted the bed can take it now." While not directly addressing the situation, the comment was seen by many as a reference to the debate surrounding the extended ICU stay of Jackson Anthony.

The extended duration of Anthony's ICU treatment had led some to question the allocation of resources and whether other patients were waiting for critical care services. Hospital authorities have now confirmed Anthony's passing.
