Sri Lanka Calls for Immediate Halt to Violence in Israel and Palestine, Condemns Loss of Civilian Life

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka has expressed deep concern over the recent attacks and escalation of violence in Israel and Palestine, which has resulted in a loss of life.

In a statement released on Sunday, the Ministry called for an immediate halt to the violence and reiterated Sri Lanka's commitment to supporting a negotiated settlement in line with internationally agreed parameters of two states living side by side on the basis of 1967 borders.

The Ministry also expressed its condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

The violence in Israel and Palestine has been ongoing, with both sides carrying out airstrikes and rocket attacks. The conflict has claimed the lives of over 200 people, including many civilians.

The international community has called for an end to the violence, but so far there has been no breakthrough.

Sri Lanka's call for an immediate halt to the violence is in line with the position of the international community.
