In a candid conversation with a news reporter following a public event, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa addressed the current state of affairs in Sri Lanka, reflecting on his previous tenure as the country's leader.
The reporter initiated the conversation by stating, "To be honest, the situation was much better under your rule, and the people did not face this much difficulty." Rajapaksa, whose family is blamed for the economic bankruptcy faced by Sri Lanka, responded by acknowledging the observation. "That is true. If you are saying this, then it is absolutely correct," he affirmed.
However, when asked about his intentions regarding a potential return to power, Rajapaksa made a significant statement. He firmly declared, "No. I think I have ruled enough. A new leadership is needed to move forward."
