Sri Lanka's state-owned fuel distributor, Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO), has implemented an increase in fuel prices effective from last night. The new fuel price adjustments are as follows:
- Octane 92 Petrol: Increased by Rs. 4, now priced at Rs. 365 per liter.
- Octane 95 Petrol: Increased by Rs. 3, now priced at Rs. 420 per liter.
- Auto Diesel: Increased by Rs. 10, now priced at Rs. 351 per liter.
- Super Diesel: Increased by Rs. 62, now priced at Rs. 421 per liter.
- Kerosene: Increased by Rs. 11, now priced at Rs. 242 per liter.
This price revision comes amid ongoing concerns over Sri Lanka's economic stability, with fuel price adjustments being implemented to mitigate the financial strain on CEYPETCO and the government. The increase in fuel prices is expected to have a cascading effect on various sectors of the economy, including transportation and daily household expenses.
Consumers and businesses are advised to plan and budget accordingly in light of these fuel price changes, which may impact the cost of living and operational expenses.
