Despite Mohammed Siraj's initial pledge to donate USD 5,000 to the hardworking groundsmen who maintained the cricket pitch during the Asia Cup final between India and Sri Lanka, the promised contribution has yet to reach them.

When questioned about the delay, Siraj responded with uncertainty, leaving the groundsmen in anticipation.

In contrast, the Asian Cricket Council's generous donation of USD 50,000 has been received and efficiently distributed among a total of 265 ground staff members who were instrumental in ensuring the tournament's success, spanning both Kandy and Colombo.

The efforts of ground staff were commended by money as they ensured the continuation of Asia Cup despite adverse weather conditions.
