Sri Lanka has made legal amendments to accommodate the screening of the Sinhalese-dubbed version of the "Murali 800" biographical movie, honoring cricket legend Muttiah Muralitharan.
This significant change comes as the country celebrates its cricket hero, Muralitharan, and aims to provide local audiences with the opportunity to view his inspiring life story on the big screen.
Previously, Sri Lankan law prohibited the screening of foreign movies dubbed in local languages, but an exception has been made for "Murali 800" due to Muralitharan's revered status in the nation. This amendment allows the movie to begin its screenings in Sri Lanka on October 6th, bringing the legendary cricketer's tale to a wider audience in his home country.
