Grisly Discovery in Kuala Lumpur: Three Sri Lankan Men Found Dead, Police Investigate

September 24, 2023

In a chilling incident that unfolded in Sentul, Kuala Lumpur, three Sri Lankan men were discovered lifeless in a house on Jalan Perhentian Kampung Kovil Hilir. The victims were found with their hands and feet bound, their heads encased in plastic, and one of them was unclothed. The harrowing scene came to light following screams believed to emanate from a violent altercation within the premises.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid recounted that a concerned member of the public alerted the authorities about a disturbance at a four-storey shophouse lot around 11 pm on the fateful night. A police mobile patrol vehicle (MPV) team promptly arrived at the second-floor residence to investigate, leading to the grim discovery of the three deceased men, who were in their 20s and 40s.

Further inquiries revealed that the house, comprising five rooms, was occupied by a Sri Lankan couple in their 40s and their children, along with two tenants who tragically lost their lives in the incident. The investigation indicates that two Sri Lankan suspects, residing in Klang, Selangor, had visited the couple, whom they had known for approximately six months. These suspects are believed to have spent two days in the house, suggesting that the events might have been premeditated.

While initial findings have shown signs of physical harm on one victim, the other two bodies displayed no apparent injuries. Authorities have seized a knife suspected to be the murder weapon, and the bodies have been sent to the Hospital Kuala Lumpur National Institute of Forensic Medicine for post-mortem examinations.

The married couple, who are currently unemployed, have been remanded for seven days under Section 302 of the Penal Code to facilitate further investigation. The police continue to pursue leads in the case, aiming to uncover the motive behind this horrifying incident.

Law enforcement agencies are seeking assistance from the public in locating two foreign men, also believed to be connected to the case, who managed to flee the scene.
