Foreign Minister Ali Sabry addressed the High-level Meeting on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness, and Response during the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on September 20, . During his address, Minister Sabry emphasized the need for increased health financing in developing countries to bolster their capacities for responding to future pandemics. Minister Sabry called on financially and technologically advanced nations to commit to sharing their expertise and technology with developing countries. He urged them to increase technical assistance and support the creation of environments conducive to securing financing for pandemic prevention and preparedness.
Furthermore, Minister Sabry highlighted the importance of enhancing early detection, information sharing, evidence-based projections, and response evaluation. He emphasized the need to introduce modern technologies and IT capabilities that can bolster the capacity of nations to respond effectively to pandemics.
