Foreign Minister Ali Sabry addressed the High-level Meeting on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness, and Response during the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on September 20, . The theme of the meeting was "Making the world safer: Creating and maintaining political momentum and solidarity for Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness, and Response."

During his address, Minister Sabry emphasized the need for increased health financing in developing countries to bolster their capacities for responding to future pandemics. He stressed that investing in research and development (R&D) was crucial for achieving an equitable and effective response to health crises.

Minister Sabry called on financially and technologically advanced nations to commit to sharing their expertise and technology with developing countries. He urged them to increase technical assistance and support the creation of environments conducive to securing financing for pandemic prevention and preparedness.

Furthermore, Minister Sabry highlighted the importance of enhancing early detection, information sharing, evidence-based projections, and response evaluation. He emphasized the need to introduce modern technologies and IT capabilities that can bolster the capacity of nations to respond effectively to pandemics.
