Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekara revealed that the CEB currently employs a total of 23,419 staff members, a figure that has raised questions about the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the organization's operations.

To address these concerns, the minister disclosed that a comprehensive report on Staff Norms & Levels had been presented by the CEB. The report, presented by the CEB management, is aligned with the proposed restructuring process of the organization.

The report delves into several critical aspects, including the assessment of current staff requirements and distribution, the utilization of outsourced services, the alignment with operational demands, industry benchmarks, and projections for future growth within the sector.
