Marc-Andre Franche, the UN Resident Coordinator in Sri Lanka, held a meeting with the newly appointed Commissioners of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka. During this meeting, the focus was on the critical role played by the commission in monitoring and advising authorities on various human rights issues within the country.

The UN Resident Coordinator expressed the UN's commitment to supporting the Human Rights Commission's efforts in Sri Lanka. Through collaboration with UNDP, UNICEF, and the EU Mission in Sri Lanka, the UN aims to further enhance the commission's capacities and strengthen its ability to safeguard and promote human rights in the nation.
