Police have unearthed a T56 firearm with 28 bullets believed to belong to Ganemulla Sanjeeva, a notorious member of an organized crime gang and an international drug trafficker currently under interrogation on a 90-day detention order. The firearm was discovered carefully concealed beneath a small culvert on Angoda Parakum Mawatha on the 17th of this month.
A specialized police team from the Western Province North Crime Division arrived at the location early this morning and successfully recovered the concealed firearm and its accompanying ammunition. These deadly items were discreetly packed inside a travel bag.
Startlingly, police sources have disclosed that this particular firearm is suspected to have been used in numerous murders within the Gampaha area. Investigations are now underway to confirm this chilling fact.
