In a startling incident that unfolded outside the official residence of Madivela's Member of Parliament (MP), a state minister from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna party reportedly discharged multiple rounds from a government-issued pistol last night.

According to police sources, the state minister, who has been mired in controversy in the past, allegedly fired several shots into the air while standing on the balcony of the MP's residence. The incident is said to have occurred while the state minister was inebriated.

Eyewitnesses reported that three shots were fired skyward, causing alarm among neighbors and residents in the vicinity. The incident has raised concerns about the state minister's behavior and politicians having access to firearms.
