Parliamentarian Dayasiri Jayasekara has been ousted from his role as the General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP).

MP Jayasekara received notification of his removal through a letter from SLFP Chairman and former President Maithripala Sirisena.

The letter specifies that MP Dayasiri Jayasekara's party membership has been immediately suspended, thereby rendering him ineligible to serve as the SLFP General Secretary.

Additionally, the letter mentions the initiation of disciplinary proceedings against MP Jayasekara in response to multiple allegations against him.
