NGOs Failing to Register with National Secretariat to be Banned: Public Security Minister

Addressing a press conference held at the Presidential Media Center, Public Security Minister Tiran Alles unveiled the government's intention to take measures aimed at regulating non-governmental organizations (NGOs) operating within the country.

Minister Alles emphasized that this initiative is directed towards unregistered NGOs and will be overseen by the National NGO Secretariat.

He began by acknowledging the significant public discourse surrounding the activities of NGOs in the country.

He highlighted the importance of ensuring transparency and accountability among these organizations, which often play crucial roles in various sectors, including social welfare, healthcare, and environmental conservation.

"In recent times, we have observed a proliferation of non-governmental organizations, some of which operate without proper registration and oversight," Minister Alas stated. "To safeguard the interests of our citizens and maintain a transparent civil society, we are taking steps to address this issue."

The proposed measures, which will be enforced through the National NGO Secretariat, aim to enhance transparency and accountability in the functioning of NGOs. This includes ensuring that all NGOs operating within the country are duly registered and comply with the established regulations.
