Yesterday (02), an autopsy was scheduled for a Sri Lankan man who was hanged in Kuwait after being found guilty of drug charges. However, the postmortem was postponed due to a heated argument over the ownership of the body, and it will be conducted today (03).
Three women came forward, claiming to be the wives of the deceased. One of them, working in Oman, testified that she was married to him for 17 years and has two children. She expressed her reluctance to accept the body but requested the opportunity to attend the last rites.
The authorities will verify the identities of the wives using marriage certificates and birth certificates of the children. Further investigation will be conducted today to resolve the situation.
