French President Emmanuel Macron will touch down in Colombo on Friday for a brief visit, during which he is set to meet with Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe and other top government officials. The visit is a crucial follow-up to President Wickremesinghe's recent trip to Paris, where he attended the Global Leaders' Summit for a New Global Financing Pact on the invitation of President Macron.

During their meeting, the two leaders are expected to delve into a range of topics, with debt restructuring taking center stage in their discussions. Sri Lanka's debt restructuring measures have become a matter of importance for the country, and this meeting offers an opportunity to seek support and explore potential solutions.

President Wickremesinghe had already detailed Sri Lanka's debt restructuring plans during the Global Leaders' Summit held from June 22nd to 25th. The summit saw participation from leaders across the world, making it an ideal platform for presenting Sri Lanka's debt situation and explaining the measures being taken to address it.
