In a shocking turn of events at Galle Face Green, a suspect has been apprehended by authorities for attempting to abduct a 07- year- old child.

The girl had been enjoying a day at the beach with her mother and father when the incident took place.

Witnesses recounted the terrifying ordeal as a person brazenly snatched the young girl and attempted to flee from the scene. However, the girl's parents sprang into action, screaming for help and grabbing the attention of onlookers nearby.

The swift response of the Fort Police came to the rescue, and they managed to apprehend the suspect before he could escape with the child. The suspect, identified as a 33-year-old resident of the Udupusellawa area, was promptly handed over to the Mella Karakotu police for further investigation.
