In a new development, Reyaz Mihular, a prominent member of the Board of Directors, has been appointed as the new Chairman of Sri Lanka Telecom. The decision was made during a crucial board meeting held earlier today.
The appointment came into effect after an emergency proposal was submitted to the Board of Directors in accordance with the Sri Lanka Telecom Act. With a majority vote, Mihular was chosen to succeed the outgoing Chairman, Rohan Fernando.
Reyaz Mihular brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the position, having previously served as the head of KPMG and being elected to the board of directors of Sri Lanka Telecom.
This move comes amidst the government’s plans to sell its shares of Sri Lanka Telecom.
