President Ranil Wickremesinghe is set to depart from the island this afternoon for a two-day official visit to India. During his absence, the duties and responsibilities of the ministries under the President's purview have been delegated to State Ministers, ensuring the smooth functioning of government affairs.
The official visit to India underscores the importance of bilateral relations between the two neighboring nations and is expected to strengthen cooperation in various sectors, including trade, investment, and regional issues.
To ensure seamless governance during the President's absence, the following State Ministers have been appointed as Acting Ministers to oversee the respective ministries:
- Minister of State for Defense Pramitha Bandara Tennakoon as Acting Minister of State for Defense
- Minister of State for Finance Shehan Semasinghe as Acting Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization, and National Policy
- State Minister for Investment Promotion Dilum Amunugama as Acting Minister for Investment Promotion
