The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), Sri Lanka's main opposition party, has taken decisive action by removing Ministers Harin Fernando and Manusha Nanayakkara from its ranks.

The decision was made after the duo accepted Cabinet portfolios from President Ranil Wickremesinghe, against the party's firm stance of not accepting Cabinet positions from the government.

Months of intense internal discussions and a disciplinary inquiry culminated in the SJB's decision to expel the two ministers, who were once prominent figures within the party.
