Tensions escalated this morning (18) as a 55-year-old man took to protesting on the rooftop of the Kurunegala court complex, claiming he was treated unfairly by the Malsiripura police. Eyewitnesses reported that the man, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, staged the protest after alleging that he was wrongly implicated in a case related to illegal liquor trade.

The incident drew the attention of onlookers as the man made his way onto the rooftop, venting his grievances against the Malsiripura Police. Police officers, along with members of the Kurunegala Municipal Council's fire department, were swiftly mobilized to handle the situation and ensure the safety of both the protester and the public.

According to sources, the man accused the Malsiripura Police of unjustly filing a case against him regarding an alleged illegal liquor trade.
