In response to the government's committee appointed to investigate the reasons behind the country's bankruptcy, opposition leader Sajith Premadasa has decided to form an alternative committee comprised of members from the opposition parties.
Expressing concerns about the government's approach, opposition leader Sajith Premadasa labeled the parliamentary committee as a cunning strategy aimed at achieving narrow political objectives. He criticized the government for appointing individuals who were allegedly responsible for the country's financial crisis as heads of the committee, highlighting what he called the government's lack of transparency.
Members of both the Samagi Jana Balawegaya and National Janata Jana Balawegaya parties recently resigned from the Parliamentary Special Committee, citing the futility of the committee's work under the leadership of individuals associated with the economic bankruptcy.
Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa emphasized the need for a transparent and impartial investigation into the nation's financial crisis. As a result, he has assembled an alternative committee comprising members from the opposition parties, tasked with independently examining the factors contributing to the country's economic challenges and formulating recommendations to address the situation.
